Ghaziabad Blast: ATS Probes Viral Responsibility Claim

All about Ghaziabad Police Outpost Blast Viral Video Claims Responsibility.

A late-night explosion at a police outpost in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad has raised security concerns after a social media account circulated a video claiming responsibility for the incident in the name of an organisation calling itself Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen Hindustan. The message has drawn particular attention because it reportedly links the explosion to alleged detention facilities in Assam and bulldozer actions, while directing threatening rhetoric at the governments led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The explosion occurred at the Vasundhara police outpost in Ghaziabad's Indirapuram area at around 9 pm on Friday, November 6. It damaged parts of the police facility and left a food delivery worker injured after glass fragments struck him. The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), forensic experts and bomb disposal personnel have since examined the site.

However, investigators face two separate questions: what actually caused the explosion, and whether the organisation named in the viral video has any genuine connection with the incident.

As of November 7, neither the cause of the blast nor the authenticity of the online claim has been established by police.

What Happened at the Vasundhara Police Outpost?

The explosion took place near the rear wall of the Vasundhara police outpost, which falls under the Indirapuram police station area of Ghaziabad.

According to police officials, a sub-inspector and a food delivery worker were present at the premises when the incident occurred. The explosion shattered two windowpanes and caused a crack in the structure.

The delivery worker sustained minor injuries after pieces of broken glass struck his head. He was taken to a hospital for treatment and was reported to be in good health. No police personnel were injured.

Ghaziabad Police Commissioner J. Ravinder Goud confirmed that evidence had been collected from the affected premises and that investigators were examining all possible explanations.

The incident initially attracted attention because the damaged property was a police facility rather than an ordinary residential or commercial building.

Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen Hindustan Claims Responsibility Through Social Media

The incident took another turn after an X account operating under the name 'Ghazi 2' circulated a post claiming responsibility for the explosion.

The message was issued in the name of a group identifying itself as Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen Hindustan. It included an audio-visual statement that reportedly described the explosion as an action directed against the authorities.

The account also reportedly issued threats against the police outpost.

According to media reports examining the circulated material, the purported statement criticised government policies and presented the incident as a response to alleged actions against sections of the population.

However, the appearance of a responsibility claim on social media does not establish who carried out an explosion. Investigators are examining the account, the video and its digital origins to determine whether the message is authentic and whether it has any connection with the physical incident.

Police have not publicly confirmed that the organisation named in the message was behind the blast.

Why Does the Video Mention Assam Detention Camps and Bulldozer Actions?

One of the most politically sensitive aspects of the circulating message is its reference to alleged detention facilities in Assam and bulldozer actions carried out in different parts of the country.

The purported statement presents these issues as grievances against the central and Uttar Pradesh governments. It also reportedly directs threatening language towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

These references form part of the video's alleged political justification. They should not be treated as an established motive behind the explosion.

The authenticity of the message, the identity of its creators and the connection between its claims and the actual incident remain under investigation.

The distinction is important because online statements claiming responsibility can sometimes be intended to spread fear, create publicity or mislead investigators.

ATS and Forensic Teams Begin Investigation

The Uttar Pradesh ATS has joined the investigation, alongside forensic experts and bomb disposal personnel. Reports also said a special cell of Delhi Police reached the area to examine the incident.

Investigators are examining the damaged structure and collecting material that may help establish the source and nature of the explosion.

An important development came from DCP Rizul Kumar on November 7. According to his statement to ANI, preliminary checks at the site had not detected traces of explosive material, gunpowder or chemical residue.

The samples collected from the location were sent for further forensic examination.

Officials have therefore not reached a final conclusion on whether the explosion resulted from an explosive device, an accidental source or some other cause.

There were also early reports examining the possibility of an incident involving the air-conditioning unit. However, this explanation has not been established by forensic findings.

The police investigation is continuing.

Intelligence Agencies Examine the Credibility of the Online Claim

The name used in the responsibility message has also become an important part of the investigation.

A November 7 report by The Times of India, citing intelligence sources, said officials had questioned the organisational credibility of the group calling itself Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen Hindustan. The report stated that the name did not appear in existing counter-terrorism databases.

The same report said cyber-intelligence teams were examining digital footprints, account details and the circulation of the video.

This raises another possibility investigators need to consider: whether the message represents a genuine responsibility claim or an attempt to create a false impression of organised militant activity.

Until digital evidence and forensic findings establish a connection, the group's alleged involvement must remain unconfirmed.

What Does the Ghaziabad Blast Mean for Delhi-NCR Security?

Ghaziabad's location makes the incident particularly sensitive from a security perspective. The city forms part of the National Capital Region and shares close geographical and transport links with Delhi and other important urban centres.

Any unexplained explosion at a police facility naturally attracts attention from security agencies because police stations and outposts are important public institutions.

The appearance of an online threat alongside the incident adds a digital investigation to the physical inquiry.

Investigators need to establish not only the cause of the explosion but also who created the purported video, whether the account behind it has links to any organised network and whether the threats are credible.

Reports on November 7 also indicated that security checks were being carried out around important installations in the NCR.

For now, the investigation remains focused on evidence rather than assumptions.

Key Questions Still Awaiting Answers

Several important details remain unresolved:

  • What was the actual source of the explosion at the Vasundhara outpost?

  • Was the incident accidental or deliberate?

  • Is the social media account genuinely connected to the organisation named in the video?

  • Who created and circulated the purported responsibility message?

  • Do the references to Assam detention facilities and bulldozer actions have any verified connection to the incident?

  • Will forensic examination establish the presence or absence of explosive material?

The answers will be important in determining whether the incident was an isolated explosion, a deliberate attack or an event accompanied by a misleading online claim.

Conclusion: Blast Under Investigation, Responsibility Claim Still Unverified

The explosion at Ghaziabad's Vasundhara police outpost has triggered a multi-agency investigation, particularly after a social media account claimed responsibility in the name of Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen Hindustan.

While the message contains political references and threatening language, investigators have not established its authenticity or confirmed any connection between the named group and the explosion.

The preliminary absence of explosive traces adds another important dimension to the investigation, with forensic examination still needed to determine the exact cause.

For authorities, the immediate priority is to establish what happened at the outpost, identify whoever may be responsible and verify the source of the online threats.

Until those findings emerge, the responsibility claim should be treated as an allegation under investigation, not as a confirmed terror attack.
